Russian and CIS Mining Symposium took place in London on 24 June. More than 150 mining professionals, consultants, mining investors and media took part in the Symposium. It offered extensive update on business, regulatory, financial and economic developments in mining and metals sector in Russia, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan and Ukraine. MINEX technical and steering committee members have met on 24 June and approved plans for Minex 2010/2011 key events. The main focus of the MINEX should remain on developing professional dialogue and international know how exchange in the field of mining efficiency, production modernisation, effective management of exploration and extracting projects in Russia and CIS.

The meeting took place on 21 April at the Moscow State Mining University.
Theme: Practical aspects of harmonisation of Russia’s reserves classification system and with international CRIRSCO standards.

The Russian and CIS MINEX forum is pleased to participate in Fraser Institute’s annual survey of the Mining Companies 2009/10. The survey published since 1997 covers 72 mining jurisdictions around the world. It assess how mineral endowments and public policy factors such as taxation and regulation affect exploration investment.
