Minex, the largest mining forum in Russia, and Moscow Mining Club with support of Moscow State Mining University (MSMU) establish Moscow Mining Club Minex. Initiative and format of the club were discussed by the participants at the meeting on 15 December in Moscow.

Russia established the status of world mineral mining power a long time ago but Russian mining companies have become noticeable on international markets only in the recent years. This is primarily because of the requirement to adapt to the business management rules established in the world. There are several clubs representing interests of mining community in Russia, but none of them have an international status.

The aim of the combined Club is to reflect interests of both Russian and international mining communities, determine maximum of the common points for Russian and international approaches by attracting all the interested parties to the discussion:

• Responsible Government executive bodies (Ministry of Nature protection, Rosnedra, GKZ, Rostechnadzor etc.)
• Russian and international mining companies
• Russian and international institutions of higher mining education
• Audit, financial, legal, consulting and engineering companies
• Banks and stock exchanges

First meeting of the club is planned in February 2010. A regular web page of the club will appear in the new year at Minex forum website: www.minexforum.com
