Nick Coppin has been with the Wardell Armstrong Group since 1987 and Managing Director of Wardell Armstrong International Ltd since 2004.
An environmental scientist and ecologist, Nick has a broadly based international experience in the mining and minerals industry. He has worked extensively with the private sector, government agencies, regional authorities, and institutions for mining, energy and industrial development, environmental protection, regeneration and finance. He has more than 30 years experience of mine closure, land reclamation, post-mining regeneration, environmental audit, due diligence and assessment of environmental liabilities. His experience covers metalliferous, coal, kaolin and construction aggregate mining and quarrying, in the UK, eastern Europe, Africa and central and east Asia.

As Managing Director of WAI Nick currently oversees international and UK projects. He has steered WAI to become a major provider of technical services in the mining and energy sectors worldwide.
