The annual 18th CERBA Eurasia Mining Conference was a success thanks to the efforts of the members, partners and CERBA team!
Over the last 18 years, CERBA has worked together with the Canadian representatives of the mining industry and their counterparts from Eurasia to discuss business opportunities, regulatory issues, as well as market analysis and forecasts. On March 6th, 2018 Mining trends in Eurasia were tackled by key figures in the mining industry, covering broad aspects of policy and legislation, continuity and direction, transparency and implementation practices in the sector.
Evgeniy Kiselev (Speech in Russian ), Deputy Minister of the Natural Resources and Environment, Head of RosNedra demonstrated an enhanced outreach on the regulation of collection, processing, analysis, storage, and use of geological information on minerals– “New classification of Mineral Resources and Ore reserves”. Mining development opportunities in Kazakhstan were explored, facilitated, and encouraged by Eldar Tagash, Vice Chairman, KazGeology National Company in his presentation titled “Granting subsoil use rights in Kazakhstan“. On a similar note, Munkhbileg Namsrai, Senior officer of Mineral Resources Information and Technology Center of the Mineral Resources and Petroleum Authority of Mongolia, highlighted the local mining sector contribution to the national GDP covering the industrial production and export income.
CERBA Eurasia Mining Conference established a presence at international, national, provincial, and local levels promoting collaboration with industry professionals. Boris Yatsenko, Ph.D. Partner, Head of the Metals & Mining Group in Russia and CIS Transaction Advisory Services, Valuation & Business Modelling at Ernst & Young, investigated the investment attractiveness of the CIS mining industry in his report. Stanislav Borodyuk, Vice President, Government Relations and Public Affairs, Head, Moscow office, Kinross Gold Corporation channelled recommendations in the measures to foster investment in the mining exploration in Chukotka.
