Eight miners are missing after a flood at Russia’s largest diamond mine.

Water leaked into an underground shaft on Friday morning when 142 workers were inside. A total of 134 miners were brought to the surface after the flood started, Alrosa said. On Saturday also worker Alisher Mirzayev was saved.

The company said the search continues. Divers have reportedly arrived at the scene, BBC notes.

The town of Mirny in Yakutia has declared a state of emergency.
